Overview
Widgets are materials used to upgrade Hero Exclusive Gear — a special equipment slot available only to Legendary (orange) heroes. Unlike standard gear that provides additive bonuses, widget bonuses are multiplicative, making them exponentially more powerful in late-game scenarios.
How Widgets Work
Here's why widgets are game-changing: with additive bonuses, adding 15% to 125% Lethality gives you 140%. But with multiplicative bonuses, 125% × 1.15 = 143.75%. The difference seems small, but when applied across an entire rally army with high base stats, the real combat increase can be 100-150%+.
Maxing any hero's exclusive gear costs 275 widgets total across levels 1-10.
Offensive vs Defensive
Widget triggers depend on the hero type:
- Offensive widgets fire only when you lead a rally
- Defensive widgets trigger in ralliable structures (garrison defense)
This is why Amadeus (offensive widget) is S+ for rally but B for garrison, while Zoe (defensive widget) is S for garrison but B for rally.
Investment Priority
- Amadeus — Aegis of Fate: Only offensive infantry widget in the game. Irreplaceable.
- Petra — Tarot of Destiny: First cavalry rally widget. Essential for cavalry rallies.
- Zoe / Eric / Alcar: Defensive widgets for garrison. Invest if you're a defender.
